Ex-NCT member Taeil faced severe legal trouble on February 28, 2025, when he was indicted on allegations of quasi-rape. Authorities claim he intoxicated a victim in June 2024, and his repeated absence from three police summons, supposedly due to illness, has pushed controversy further.
Under Korean law, quasi-rape can result in at least seven years of imprisonment, proving the serious nature of the crime. There are three other individuals linked to the case who have reportedly cooperated with investigators. Meanwhile, Taeil’s evasive attitude has generated outrage and criticism. The idol who was once known for his vocal talent turned out to be a criminal, making fans feel completely shocked.
At this point, the former idol has completely shattered his public image and career. In fact, his former label, SM Entertainment, removed him from NCT following the confirmation of the crime back in August 2024. The company issued an official statement confirming that both decided to terminate their contract due to the severity of the crime.
