BLACKPINK’s Jennie explains why music comes first and teases her upcoming album “Ruby”

BLINKs are feeling the hype as BLACKPINK’s Jennie gears up for her first solo album, “Ruby.” On March 2, the idol appeared on the Jennifer Hudson Show preview, spilling the tea about her current projects. She also teased more dance-heavy tracks, building on the vibes of “Mantra,” and even demonstrated a playful move that had the audience cheering.

When asked about acting, Jennie affirmed that she hopes to explore it more in the future, but right now, her focus is on music and “Ruby.” She shared that producing her debut album has been time-consuming, leaving little room for dream roles or auditions. After spending time in the studio last year, Jennie revealed that it was a learning experience and that it was one of her “favorite things.”

Interestingly, Jennie admitted to a slight shift in her favorite part of being a K-pop idol. While she once focused on performances above all, studio production has since stolen her heart! Now, mark your calendars: the full Jennie interview on the Jennifer Hudson show will officially be dropped on March 10th. Until then, listen to a preview of “Ruby,” dropping on March 7th:
