New girl group Hearts2Hearts sparks fan frenzy on their debut with a fresh record

Hearts2Hearts kicked off their grand debut on February 24, 2025, with “The Chase,” instantly sending fans into a frenzy. SM Entertainment’s first girl group in five years exceeded expectations by selling a whopping 231,648 copies of their single on day one. This impressive outshined LE SSERAFIM’s previous second-place record of 176,861, placing Hearts2Hearts right behind chart-toppers NJZ. And this is only the first day of release! Once the week is over, the sales will have increased to a new record-breaking number.

The eight-member lineup—Jiwoo, Carmen, Yuha, Stella, Juun, A-Na, Ian, and Ye-On—embraces SM’s signature vibes but with their new identity. Only on their debut, Hearts2Hearts has already made waves with their fresh vibe and dynamic concept, mixing the legacy of Girls’ Generation, f(x), Red Velvet, and aespa,  yet promising a new direction.

During their debut showcase in Seoul on February 26, the members shared their excitement, expressing deep admiration for Girls’ Generation. Carmen, SM’s first Indonesian idol, recalled how watching “The Boys” fueled her dreams. Meanwhile, Ian confidently said they “would become the future of SM.” And with record-breaking sales on their debut, Hearts2Hearts seems to be redefining the fifth generation of k-pop already!
