On December 14, 2024, NewJeans launched a new Instagram account, jeanzforfree, to move out of their agency, ADOR. But the company isn’t letting them go so easily, dropping a firm statement about, what they consider, an unauthorized Instagram account.
ADOR releases a statement following the creation of the new IG account, Jeanzforfree:

On December 19, 2024, the company clarified that the Instagram account wasn’t approved and violated the terms of NewJeans’ exclusive contract. They emphasized that the group already has official accounts for fan communication and hoped that the members would stick to these channels. The company also revealed that third-party advertisers and brands have raised concerns about the account, hinting at potential legal problems and confusion.

Despite the controversy, NewJeans didn’t hold back on jeanzforfree. In a bunch of Instagram Stories, the members confirmed, “It’s really us!” and promised to stay connected with fans. While fans are excited about this independent move, ADOR isn’t accepting it all so easily. As of now, things are looking a little bit hectic in NewJeans’ world.
