BTS’ RM took to Weverse with the sweetest Lunar New Year shout-out, making fans nostalgic about the good old days! In his lengthy letter, he joked about turning 32 in Korean age—though he insists he’s just 30 internationally—and teased that he’s finally entering his “ahjusshi” (uncle) era. Despite his funny complaints about aging, RM is totally thriving in the military, as he just got promoted to sergeant alongside other BTS members.

But the big reveal? He’s counting down the days until June 10, 2025, when he leaves military life behind and returns to being Kim Namjoon full-time. Until then, he’ll stay busy with hardcore workouts, saxophone practice, and, of course, dreaming about a musical comeback. The BTS leader even shaved his head to mark his new rank, sharing a few selfies to prove it:

And he’s not alone in the countdown! Millions of BTS fans (also known as ARMY) are counting down the days for the rest of the members to be discharged. Jin and J-Hope completed their services on June 12, 2024, and October 17, 2024, respectively, becoming the first duty-free BTS members. Meanwhile, V, Jungkook, Jimin, Suga, and RM are all expected to be discharged on June this year.
