The Monarch of the United Kingdom has sparked accusations of climate hypocrisy after taking an 11-minute helicopter ride to visit a food bank in Scotland. It was reported the King generated more carbon emissions than the average person does in a week.
The King has been pretty vocal about the concerns of the carbon emissions in the United Kingdom and the world. However, he decided to use his £6 million helicopter to go to Scotland, and then he returned home by helicopter.
Adding to the controversy, flight logs revealed that the chopper had made a 684-mile round trip from an RAF base in London to Scotland and back. This resulted in a total carbon footprint of 4.6 tonnes. However, it remains unclear whether King Charles III was on board for the connecting flights.
