SM Entertainment has served as a platform for tens of idols from veterans to rookies to express their art to the world. After 30 years in the making, great groups have been formed, including SHINee, who were absent from the anniversary celebrations.
On January 15 KST, SM Entertainment announced the release of the 30th-anniversary special album featuring iconic remakes done by its artists. The album will include a total of 17 tracks, led by the title track, “Thank You,” which serves as a new group song for the company.
The K-Netizens noticed the absence of SHINee’s group contribution to the album, questioning whether their non-participation in the SMTOWN concert led to their exclusion. Taemin already addressed that he was still negotiating with the music agency and that’s why he didn’t perform at the concert.
Ultimately, the K-Netizens and SHINee’s fans speculated that the group’s absence from the album may be due to Taemin’s departure from the company. However, there is no official statement by SM Entertainment explaining the chaotic situation.
