The Jeju Air Plane incident left thousands of K-Netizens and the country entered into a national mourning. Tens of variety shows were cancelled and even some award ceremonies were postponed to a further date. These cancellations included the popular music show, “Music Core”.
On January 4, MBC announced that the MBC variety shows, “Music Core,” and “How Do You Play” which were scheduled to air today, will not be airing. They asked the viewers to understand the tragic situation.
However, “When The Phone Rings” and “The Manager” will air as usual, which caused mixed reactions among the K-Netizens. South Korea’s official national mourning period for the Jeju Air plane crash, which took place on December 29, runs until the end of January 4.
It is expected that “Music Core” will air next week without any further inconveniences. It remains unknown whether the show will announce this week’s winner through social media.
