BTS’ J-Hope wasted zero time reclaiming his groove after returning from the military—following his October 17 discharge, he took a plane to LA, ready to let the States help him get back in shape! In a December 24 Weverse Magazine interview, he spilled that he traveled to rediscover the rhythms that define him as an artist.
“Why LA, though?”
j-hope: I like everywhere in the States, but Cali’s got a vibe of its own that I love. I like the sun, the atmosphere, and how laid-back it is. Plus, all the music people everyone talks about are there. (laughs) Actually, the whole point of me going to the US… pic.twitter.com/ZfUy5fxUHj

“Actually, the whole point of me going to the US was connected to my work under the name J-Hope, so that’s where I started. It was obvious that LA was where I needed to go.”
But adjusting to civilian life was easier said than done. The BTS dance king revealed that everything felt foreign at first, especially in a different country. He admitted it was even tougher to slide back into normalcy under the California sun. Yet, once he started meeting new people, he finally felt like he was finding his footing again.
Catch him speaking about his trip in an interview:
“I just wanted to adapt to society a little faster. Because the music & work that I’ve done are in that culture. To absorb & embrace the culture a little faster, I went & watched, listened, felt, ate, slept…”

Now that he’s reconnected with his inner artist, ARMY is hyped for whatever music he has up his sleeve next. If that’s not enough, rumors about a 2025 BTS comeback are swirling around. Ready for the BTS domination in 2025!?
