KG, a member of the global girl group VCHA, has sued JYP Entertainment, accusing the agency of mistreatment and unbearable living conditions. The revelations from KG’s legal challenge have sent shockwaves through the K-pop community, highlighting serious allegations that include psychological abuse, inadequate care, and financial exploitation under the guise of contractual obligations.
The lawsuit details how KG and her fellow group members endured an environment that provoked eating disorders and extreme mental distress. Some of these conditions led to self-harm among the members and an attempt by one of them to end her own life. KG revealed her decision to sue the company through her Instagram story, also expressing she was leaving the group and would continue pursuing music outside the K-pop circle.
Meanwhile, JYP Entertainment responded to all these claims by saying that they “haven’t received the content directly” and that they are “checking” the situation with their agents. They have not yet publically addressed the specific claims KG made, prompting fans and users online to criticize their position. The future of VCHA remains uncertain, adding to the intrigue their fans went through due to their social media silence earlier this year.
