Disney’s live-action Snow White is ready to serve magic with a modern (albeit controversial) twist! The new trailer showcases Rachel Zegler’s stunning vocals as Snow White and Gal Gadot’s sparkly take on the Evil Queen. And don’t forget about the seven dwarfs, who also make a surprising appearance with the help of special effects.
Directed by Marc Webb, the film wants to breathe some fresh life into the 1937 original, following Snow White as she escapes the Queen’s wrath and discovers a magical life with the seven dwarfs in a cottage. With Greta Gerwig co-writing the script, the film will be bringing a more “empowered” twist to the original, due to a greater focus on resilience and strength, rather than love.
“One of the core points in our film for any young woman or young person is remembering how strong you actually are, Zegler told Variety in October 2, 2024.
While the film has faced its share of controversies, thanks to the different thematic approach it will be taking, the trailer gives a new peak into this live-action adventure. Disney fans, mark your calendars! This reimagined classic hits theaters on March 21, 2025.
