Part one of Wicked, starring the powerhouse duo Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, has flown premiered in theaters worldwide, bringing the magical tale of Oz’s misunderstood anti-hero to screens.
Director Jon M. Chu, known for his visionary takes on storytelling, calls Wicked a “rewrite” of the ultimate American fairy tale. With Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, and Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard, this star-studded cast brings the land of Oz to new, dazzling heights. But don’t get too comfy—Part Two won’t hit theaters until November 2025.
Now, if you’re not ready to leave your couch for the Emerald City, here’s the scoop on streaming: While Universal Pictures has a history of partnering with Peacock for their movies, there’s no official word yet on when Wicked will click its dazzling slippers onto a streaming platform. But fear not! We are more than ready to update you as soon as we know.
In the meantime, grab your tickets and let Wicked cast its spell on the big screen!
