A new Channel 4 documentary about Queen Camilla Parker‘s “wicked stepmother” reputation has critics rolling their eyes. The program, which drags up old royal scandals and tensions with Prince Harry, has been slammed down for being “tedious” and “needlessly tacky.” The Guardian called it flimsy, while The Times labeled it a “ranty mess.”
The documentary appears to be built upon Prince Harry’s past declarations about Queen Camilla in his memoir “Spare.” It rehashes the Duke of Sussex’s infamous comments branding her “dangerous” and “a villain,” words that reportedly caused a rift between Prince Harry and the rest of the royal family. Later on, Prince Harry lsoftened his tone, denying she’s the evil stepmom some paint her to be.
With little fresh insight, viewers and critics seemed unimpressed by “Queen Camilla: The Wicked Stepmother?” Most publications have given it poor ratings, with publications agreeing that the show does more harm than good, failing to add anything meaningful to Camilla’s story. Meanwhile, Queen Camila Parker herself premiered “Her Majesty The Queen: Behind Closed Doors” on November 11, a documentary that follows her battle advocating for the end of domestic violence.
