Okay, BLINKs and Number Ones, wave your lightsticks! That’s because our BLACKPINK vocalist, Rosé, finally dropped the second single from her debut album, “rosie.” The song in question, titled “number one girl,” is a sentimental bop produced by Bruno Mars and it talks about and intense yearning for love.
This track comes hot on the heels of “APT.,” Rosé’s first collab with Bruno Mars. The song, which dropped on October 18, 2024, became a global hit! It made the BLACKPINK member the first Asian female solo act to hit the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and gave Bruno Mars his first MAMA Award. Meanwhile, “number one girl” marks their second collab, with Mars working behind the scenes.
This year, the BLACKPINK members decided to pursue their solo projects through different labels, although they remained in YG Entertainment for group activities. Rosé signed with THEBLACKLABEL and Atlantic Records, marking a new chapter in her career as a soloist.
For now, mark your calendars for the “rosie” release, dropping on December 6, 2024.
