BTS’ Jimin’s success cannot be matched in the last couple of months since his sophomore album, “MUSE,” and its smash song, “WHO.” While the song still gets the recognition it deserves, BTS fans did the impossible to highlight Jimin’s efforts at the 2024 MAMA Awards.
On November 22, BTS’ Jimin achieved an impressive feat by winning the Fans’ Choice Awards, even while he is currently enlisted in the South Korean Military. The award also became the first time a soloist has won the recognition since BIGBANG’s Taeyang did so in 2014.
The award was granted solely by BTS fans, better known as ARMY’s efforts during the round votes of the awards. Jimin recognized this amazing contribution from all of his fans and posted a heartfelt message on WeVerse on November 23:
“Dear ARMYs, I’ve come back here after hearing some truly amazing news.
Even though I’m in the military, I’ve received a daesang…
How did you send me such an incredible gift like this?
I am overwhelmed with gratitude.
I’ve been talking a lot with Jungkook these days.
We’ve been so excited to discuss what kind of music we should prepare for you and what kind of performances we should show you, after we’re discharged from the military. And now, receiving such a huge award has left me even more stunned.
Totally stunned
Stunned, stunned, stunned, stunned, stunned.
Thank you so much, everyone.
If the day arrives when I can pay you back, the best gift will be to show you the greatest performance I can.
It goes without saying, but I’ll come back even stronger and show you a better version of myself. Please look forward to it.”
