Cardi B doesn’t take anyone throwing shade lightly, and she made that clear when Elon Musk called her a “puppet” for publically supporting Kamala Harris. Following the rapper’s speech at a Harris rally in Milwaukee, Musk, a vocal Trump supporter, took to X, claiming Cardi can’t speak “without being fed words.”
After that, Cardi B hoped on Musk’s own platform, X, responding: “I’m not a puppet, Elon.” She reminded him of her immigrant roots and the grind her parents went through to support her. Cardi, who grew up navigating welfare, Section 8 housing, and systemic struggles, told Musk he couldn’t possibly understand these difficulties:
“I’m a daughter of two immigrant parents that had to work their ass off to provide for me! I’m a product of what happens when the system is set up against you….But you don’t know nothing about that. You don’t know not one thing about the American struggle.”
She ended her sassy reply by asking the CEO to “fix” her algorithm.
Elon Musk isn’t new at throwing shade at celebrities for supporting Kamala Harris’ campaign. Previously, he’s mocked Eminem and Taylor Swift for endorsing the presidential candidate.
