Top 5 albums that sold 1 million copies in a week in the United States, including Taylor Swift

The music industry’s competition has been rough over the years, some big names compete in the charts weekly. However, these top 5 albums made an astonishing debut in the United States by selling 1 million copies or more.

5. Eminem’s “The Marshall Mathers LP”: The iconic album made its debut in 2000 having a major impact on the music industry. Despite the artist being well-known for not promoting his music as much as other artists do, he was able to sell 1,760,000 copies in its first week.

4. NSYNC’s “Celebrity”: One of the most popular boy bands of all time had one of the best runs in history with their album, “Celebrity.” Everybody was crazy about them back then, and numbers are the living proof of it, they were able to sell 1,878,000 copies in its first week in 2001.

3. NSYNC’s “No Strings Attached”: The only act to appear twice on this iconic list, the boys proved to everyone they were there to stay for a while. The album sold 2,416,000 copies in its first week, being one of the biggest competition for Eminem in the 2000s.

Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department”: With the major success Taylor Swift has had over the last couple of years, everybody thought she could earn the No.1 spot this year with “The Tortured Poets Department.” Although she didn’t, she made a whopping milestone of 2,610,000 copies, making it the most-sold album of 2024.

Adele’s “25″: “Hello, It’s Me” is still one of the most iconic openers for a song, the album reached unprecedented success in 2015 after it was released. 3,378,000 copies were enough to secure Adele the No. 1 spot in the albums which has sold the most in the United States history during its first week.
