Usher’s Apple Music Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show was one of the most discussed matters in February 2024. However, not for all the right reasons, as some BTS fans, better known as ARMY, focused on wondering why Jungkook didn’t appear in the show despite being one of the favorite options of the public.
After months of heavy speculation, it was recently reported in several South Korean media outlets that Jungkook and Usher were allegedly meant to perform “Standing Next to You” during the Super Bowl. However, the idol enlisted in December 2023 to reduce BTS’ period of absence.
On October 9, BTS’ music agency, HYBE, made a controversial statement to Ilgan Sports to put a stop to the accusations of why they didn’t send Jungkook to perform at the Super Bowl when he was having a massive success with his debut album, “GOLDEN” in the United States.
Ultimately, HYBE simply replied, “We have nothing to say,” which sparked controversy among the K-Netizens and ARMY. They accused the company of turning down the offer without consulting Jungkook first and they also accused them of limiting Jungkook’s potential in the American market.
