The British embassy in Washington published in its official account of X a statement from King Charles III, who sends an emotional message to US President Joe Biden, expressing his ‘sadness‘ after the devastating events occurred in the American country.
A category 4 storm named Helene hit near the coast of Florida on September 26th, resulting in thousands of injuries and approximately 200 deaths in 6 states as of October 3rd, due to high wind gusts and flooding generated by the hurricane.
The embassy’s tweet says, “As the clean-up from devastating Hurricane Helene continues, King Charles has sent a message of condolence to President Joe Biden expressing his sadness and sympathy for the tragic loss of life“, assuring that the monarch deeply regrets the human losses due to this natural disaster.
The statement also added, “He also commended the bravery of emergency responders in incredibly difficult times“, recognizing the incredible work done by the security forces to rescue all the people who were affected by this situation.
