Okay, Carats, wave your lightsticks! That’s because SEVENTEEN is taking the crown as the best-selling K-pop act in Japan this year. Need proof? Well Oricon, in charge of compiling music sales in the country, just spilled the top 10 best-selling K-pop artists and our boys are reigning supreme with 903,841 copies sold.
Unsurprisingly, SEVENTEEN snags the top spot mainly thanks to the release of their compilation hit album “17 IS RIGHT HERE,” which has all their highlight singles. Not falling short, their Japanese compilation album “Always Yours,” which contains all the group’s Japanese tracks from 2018 to 2023, debuted atop of the Oricon charts last year and it keeps making moves in 2024.
Close behind, TXT takes second place with 690,571 copies, showing they’re still major players in the industry. Then, ZEROBASEONE raises 588,098 copies, proving their massive potential early on. BOYNEXTDOOR and RIIZE round out the top five, with 473,168 and 443,521 copies sold, respectively.
With K-pop dominating charts globally, 2024 is shaping up to be another golden year for the genre, especially in Japan! Take a look to the full top 10 here:
