Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are widely popular in the United States for all the wrong reasons, while they are still struggling to get into the American lifestyle, they are trying their best to show they are worthy of being there. However, this time Prince Harry shined on his own without the presence of Meghan Markle at a major event.
On September 20, the Duke of Sussex was tasked with presenting an award at Kevin Costner’s charity. The media outlets reported that the Duchess of Sussex stayed out of the public eye because she is currently ill.
The Prince’s duties in the event included presenting an award to Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office helicopter pilot, Loren Courtney. The 40-year-old Prince made a joke about his fellow pilot about how he rarely sees his family because of his duties.
“As you’ve probably heard already, 22 years [of] military service over 10,000 hours and rarely sees his family because he’s always here flying helicopters.”
Although last year, Prince Harry attended the charity event with Meghan Markle to present the Heart of the Community Award, this year’s edition was Prince Harry’s big spotlight. A source told People Magazine that the Duchess of Sussex’s absence was unexpected.
“We were all hoping Meghan would attend like she did last year but the word is that she is sick and could not make it.”
