BLACKPINK’s Jennie caused a stir when she casually addressed her fans as “Rubies” in a social media voice message. Fans quickly speculated this could be the official name for her solo fandom. However, Jennie’s agency, OA Entertainment, stepped in to clarify that Rubies is not the official name.
“Hi rubies, it’s Jennie. Stay tuned, and I’ll see you soon. Love you, bye!” The artist said.
In a statement, the agency told fans that the BLACKPINK rapper and singer was simply using the term to greet them, and there was no intention of making it official. With Kwon Eun Bi‘s fandom already named RUBI, the clarification avoided further confusion and an unnecessary overlap between fan names.
Despite the slight mishap, Jennie is gearing up for her next solo release! Recently, the K-pop sensation revealed that her label “OA” signed a deal with Columbia Records. Following this confirmation, the idol is teasing a mysterious countdown on her website, making her fans wonder what’s to come. Stay tuned for what Jennie has up her sleeve!
