In his latest memoir book, James Middleton, Kate Middleton‘s brother, revealed his first impressions of Prince William upon learning that he was dating his sister and how his dog helped him.
In the book, titled ‘Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life‘, James wrote that he was fond of the prince, adding, “But I remember putting him through his paces when we first met“, as he thought, “Did he deserve my sister? He had to earn my trust“, he wanted to make sure that the royal’s intentions with Kate were pure.
“William has been in our lives for so long, and we’ve grown very fond of him“, James confessed and added. “It helped of course that William was so genuinely fond of Ella. When he first encountered her as a tiny puppy at Bucklebury“, assuring that the prince’s love for ‘Ella’ made the brother of the current Princess of Wales trust him.
James Middleton also confirmed that he sees Prince William as his family: “He feels like our older brother and he and Catherine are so clearly a good fit, just right for each other“, and ended by saying, “I know I haven’t yet experienced the love they feel for each other myself. But I’m hoping one day I will“.
