The South Korean music programs are highly popular among Kpop fans because of the idols’ performances and the atmosphere of the show overall. At the end of the show, the hosts usually take over the stage to announce the weekly winner. However, there have been some Kpop groups who took years to receive their first win, some of them almost 10 years. Here are 3 Kpop groups that achieved the milestone many years after their debut.
Brave Girls/BB Girls: The girls had a solid debut on April 8, 2011, being one of the pioneers of the genre among other big names such as PSY and EXO. However, the first time they won an award at a music show was on March 14, 2021, 3,628 days after their debut with their song, “Rollin.”
Super Junior-D&E is the fifth subunit of the South Korean boy band Super Junior, composed of two Super Junior members: Donghae and Eunhyuk. Although the boys had a solid debut, their first win in a music show was on March 20, 2015, with “Growing Pains” after 2,685 days.
NU’EST: Inside of this top 3, NU’EST was the group that didn’t have to wait so many years to receive an award in a music program. The group debuted on March 15, 2012, and after 2,613 days they earned their first with “BET BET” on May 8, 2019.
