The Kpop genre has suffered great exposure over the years because of the dedicated idols who always present catchy beats and phenomenal lyrics. However, some of them didn’t have the support they should have because of the “Cancel Culture” movement, including some from BTS, and NewJeans. These are three songs that maybe you didn’t know were highly canceled on social media back then.
- BTS’ “War of Hormone”: The song presents the perspective of hormonal teenage boys. Although it had clever and explicit lyrics, the general public believed the song shouldn’t be played because it doesn’t represent the Kpop music genre. However, it is still one of the most beloved songs of BTS fans, better known as ARMY.
- NCT 127’s “Baby Don’t Like It”: The song made several people get offended because of their perspective from a villain’s point of view in a former relationship. However, some of the fans defended the song because it doesn’t necessarily reflect the boys’ behavior.
- NewJeans’ “Cookie”: The spicy song knew exactly what its purpose was. Despite the catchy beat, the song was released as the debut of the girls and caused a great commotion because they weren’t mature enough to sing that kind of explicit lyrics. However, the fans still love the song no matter what.
