King Charles III’s cancer treatment has halted some of the most important activities of the Monarch of the United Kingdom. However, he is now prepared to embark on a new royal tour along with Queen Camilla Parker, even with some restrictions on their vocabulary.
On September 10, Buckingham Palace released new important details about the King and Queen’s upcoming trip to Australia and Samoa in October. The Telegraph immediately reported that the term, “walkabout” will be not used during the royal tour and will be avoided at all costs for the first time because of another meaning for Australia’s indigenous communities.
“While the term has become a shorthand for a member of the royal family meeting and greeting well-wishers, it is used in Aboriginal culture to mean when a person travels on foot into the bush in times of ritual, meditation, change, grief or coming of age. Instead, the palace will reportedly trade the phrase for an “opportunity to meet the public.”
King Charles III and Queen Camilla Parker are completely focused on respecting all the commonwealth, and they are doing exceptional work. There’s no doubt that the King and Queen are taking care of every aspect during this important royal tour, the first since the King announced his cancer diagnosis.
