King Charles III and Queen Camilla Parker were reportedly spending their summer break at Balmoral, the perfect opportunity to attend the Braemar Gathering Highland Games in Aberdeenshire, close to Balmoral. The pair looked in great spirits during their latest public appearance.
The annual event has been running in its present form since 1832, being graced by the reigning monarchs since 1848. This year wasn’t the exception as King Charles III attended the event dressed in a tweed jacket and a navy, red, and green kilt. On the other hand, Queen Camilla Parker wore a navy dress with a feather pattern.
On top of that, the 2024 gathering falls one day before King Charles III’s second ascension anniversary, having become head of state immediately upon the death of Queen Elizabeth III, who died in September 2022 at the age of 96.
King Charles III reportedly attended church on Sunday, spending time in private prayers and reflection, on the anniversary of the death of his mother, which fell during his summer break. Undoubtedly, the King’s few appearances show he can rule the monarchy no matter what.
