In recent days, a new and explosive statement has emerged from the legendary film and theater actor Ian McKellen in which he goes against King Charles III for the unsustainable lifestyle he leads as monarch and calls ‘rude’ to the late Queen Elizabeth II.
On Friday, September 6th, the artist spoke to the Times of London, to whom he candidly confessed details about his meeting with the late Queen Elizabeth II. The actor told the media, “On the few occasions I met her she was quite rude“, before telling how their interaction went.
The Oscar nominee revealed that when he was receiving a medal for acting, Elizabeth told him, “You’ve been doing this for an awfully long time” and then she asked, “Does anyone still actually go to the theatre?” The actor explained, “That’s bloody rude when you’re giving someone a medal for acting. It meant, ‘Does anyone care a f – – – k about you because I don’t. Now off you go!“.
Ian McKellen also talked about how difficult it must be to be royalty, saying, “These people are in prison; they can’t do anything normal“, and added, “Can you imagine having to be nice to everyone you talk to?” He then shared his thoughts on Charles III: “He sort of survives, but he is clearly damaged“.
