Kate Middleton has been navigating her own challenges, including her recent cancer diagnosis. Interestingly, a new transition is coming up for the Princess of Wales with her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are heading back to Lambrook. After a summer of making memories, their return to school comes with a mix of emotions, royal sources say.
Laura Whitwood, Head of Junior School at St Dunstan’s College, explains how the “back-to-school” blues are pretty normal for families. The sudden shift in routines and responsibilities, from uniforms to packed lunches, can feel overwhelming for parents.
“It should not be underestimated what a huge transition the new school year is for children, but often it feels much more significant for parents.”
For the Wales family, after spending summer breaks at Balmoral and Anmer Hall, this change may be particularly emotional. However, Whitwood expresses that all children (including royals) often feel good being busy, learning new things, and being with friends and teachers. It also has advantages for parents:
“It gives parents the chance to recharge their batteries, have some independent time for a section of the day and get planning for half term.”
