The South Korean media outlets have highlighted BTS Suga’s reckless actions in his infamous DUI incident. The news sparked thousands of consequences for the idol, including rumors he might no be longer the global ambassador of Samsung Electronics.
On August 31, KST, the official media accounts of Samsung Electronics Paraguay posted several pictures of BTS’ Suga in an advertisement for Samsung’s “Freestyle 2nd Gen projector.” These ads brought relief to BTS’ fans, who have been questioning the possibility of Samsugn retracting its association with Suga.
On top of that, the Korea Herald reported that a Samsung insider revealed the brand might decide to change ambassadors, but would not take steps to exclude Suga from its campaigns immediately. Only time will tell what’s next for BTS’ Suga.
“Regardless of their fandom, there are risks in having an ambassador that has caused controversy. There is a need to carefully consider their partnership.”
