Okay, aespa stans, get in line! That’s because aespa is no stranger to shaking up streaming music charts, and the MelOn app is the latest proof of it. The platform, one of the biggest mobile applications in South Korea, recently revealed the top ten songs that have spent the most weeks at #1 on the charts. And guess what? The fierce quartet, aespa, is tying NewJeans record with 14 weeks at the top spot.

Here’s the scoop: Back in 2022, NewJeans took the MelOn rankings by storm with their nostalgic bop “Ditto,” spending 14 weeks atop the charts on the platform. But boom! Hot on the heels, there’s aespa and their jam “Supernova,” which also has 14 consecutive weeks at the number one place in the tally. The most intriguing part? The track is still charting, so there are high chances for the quartet to break NewJeans’ record at some point.

Catch the top three here:

  1. NewJeans – “Ditto.” — 14 weeks.
  2. aespa – “Supernova.” — 14 weeks.
  3. BTS – “Dynamite.” — 11 weeks.

Do you think aespa will be able to claim the throne at the end? Let us know in the comments below.
