NewJeans is facing a serious security threat after an anonymous online user that goes by the name of “A,” posted disturbing messages that revealed the location of the girl group’s dorm. This intriguing revelation took place on August 20, 2024, during a live broadcast, making Bunnies (that’s the name NewJeans fans have) and other K-pop stans totally shocked.
The threat first occurred when a fan noticed that “A” had posted dangerous messages in an online community, seemingly revealing NewJeans’ location. The cryptic post, which included the phrase “XX NewJeans,” provoked immediate concern. Even though it was as quickly deleted, the damage was done and fans were left in total panic.
Adding fuel to the fire, this person reportedly threatened to reveal the exact dorm location during a live stream. Fortunately, fans quickly reported the situation to the authorities, and as of now HYBE, NewJeans’ agency, is taking action on the issue. They confirmed that the threat was taken to the police, assuring fans that NewJeans are being protected.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time the girl group has faced these dangers—in June, they also received threats of a knife attack. On the bright side, laws in South Korea punish threats like this as a criminal offense with up to three years in prison and substantial fines.
