Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s “faux-royal” tour in Colombia has been a complete success. The Colombian and British press have highlighted the pair’s actions and initiatives to protect children from online harm. On top of that, Meghan found the perfect occasion to showcase her Spanish skills.
The Duchess of Sussex spoke at the “Afro women and power” event, accompanied by Colombian Vice-president, Francia Márquez. The former royal started her speech in Spanish because she felt the embrace from the country.
“I would like to begin in Spanish because we are in your country, my husband and I, and I can feel this embrace from Colombia. It’s incredible, so many, many thanks, because the culture, the history, everything has been like a dream on this trip.”
Meghan Markle also explained she learned Spanish 20 years ago in Argentina, so she apologized if her Spanish wasn’t completely perfect. Meghan has slowly earned thousands of hearts around the world because of her charisma during her visit. The recent tour was designed to “illuminate Colombia’s role as a beacon of culture and innovation,” and she is accomplishing this.
