BTS’ Suga’s DUI incident still sparks controversy among the K-Netizens and the South Korean media outlets. The idol’s reputation might be at several risk since KBS has commented the idol could be banned from the channel.
KBS stated to Ilgan Sports that the channel is yet to decide whether to hold a “Broadcast Appearance Review Committee” meeting for BTS’ Suga, who was previously charged with drunk driving in South Korea.
“We are undecided on holding such a meeting for BTS’s Suga. Suga is currently serving his alternative military duty, so he is not appearing on any KBS programs. [A ban on Suga’s appearance] is not an issue that needs to be discussed or addressed immediately. Moreover, since his case is under police investigation, we need to wait for the results.”
Previously, KBS imposed a “temporary appearance suspension” on actress Kim Sae Ron. The celebrity’s blood alcohol level was over 0.2% which led KBS to exclude her from their transmissions. Similarly, BTS could face the same consequences because his blood alcohol concentrations were over 0.27%
