In recent days, on social networks, K-Pop fans boycotted Samsung for deleting BTS‘ Suga photo after his drunk drive scandal, making many followers of the idol put against the technology company for their actions, even being collaborators.
Since many years, the BTS members have collaborated with the Asian brand to promote their cellphones, but also other technological releases. Suga has demonstrated to be an ambassador of this brand, working on many projects individually.
On August 15th, the Samsung Deutschland account shared a post of Suga promoting their Galaxy S24 Ultra and then a poll of three members of the boygroup, but shortly after the two publications regarding the BTS rapper were deteleyed.
Many are speculating this deleted post would be related to the idol drunk driving incident that is generating him a negative reaction from netizens around the world, so Suga fans have decided to boycott Samsung for not supporting him during this hard time.
Fans have left comments like, “Kmedia harassed @SamsungDE account into deleting their post about Yoongi. We need to raise our voice against them!” “It’s very sad how Yoongi is such a loyal Samsung fan but you deleted your post about him because of kmedia pressure. We were very happy you were supporting him but then you let him down. Please repost the picture“, “NO SUGA NO SAMSUNG!!!“.
