Prince Harry declined King Charles III’s offer to stay at Buckingham Palace during his short visit

King Charles III and Prince Harry’s complicated relationship is crossed by several scandals and misunderstandings between the two. Although the Prince released his memoir, “Spare” in 2023, the Royal Family, including King Charles III haven’t healed yet.

The Duke of Sussex visited the United Kingdom in May for a service at St Paul’s Cathedral in commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games. Unfortunately, most members of the Royal Family didn’t attend the ceremony.

It was previously reported that King Charles III extended an invitation to Prince Harry to stay at Buckingham Palace during his short visit. However, the Duke of Sussex opted for a hotel stay instead of the royal residence.

A source close to Buckingham Palace told The Times his thoughts regarding the uncomfortable situation between King Charles III and Prince Harry. The source stated that Harry might be looking for something more than his father’s help.

“I don’t know what more the King could have done. He offered Harry to stay at Buckingham Palace but it seems even that wasn’t good enough. It makes Harry’s decision to stay in a hotel all the more strange when the Palace would naturally offer all the security you could wish for.”
