BTS’ Suga is still the talk of the town for his recent DUI incident in South Korea. JTBC was one of the first South Korean media outlets to fuel the fire of the controversy among the K-Netizens and ultimately, they had to dismiss their reports.
Suga is currently under investigation for a drunk driving incident. According to several South Korean news reports, he was found lying on the ground in Hannam-dong. The Yongsan police detected the smell of alcohol and led Suga to take the breathalyzer test.
JTBC was the first to release alleged CCTV footage of the incident. However, DongA Ilbo claimed JTBC’s footage wasn’t related to Suga’s incident and they released the alleged correct footage. Ultimately, the public demanded an apology from JTBC for the misinformation.
On August 15, in their latest nightly news, JTBC covered Suga’s drunk driving incident once more to address that their footage was incorrect. However, they haven’t apologized to K-Netizens or BTS’ Suga for increasing the controversy.
