Taylor Swift‘s highly anticipated Vienna shows on August 8,9, and 10 were canceled due to a terrorist attack threat, which was thwarted by authorities. Following the unfortunate cancellations, Swifties in Austria were gifted a sweet consolation prize: a free broadcast of the “Eras Tour” movie on national TV.

While the “Blank Space” singer was scheduled to perform three back-to-back shows in Vienna, she had to step back when authorities uncovered a plot that could have turned her concert into a mass casualty event. The Ernst Happel Stadium, set to host 65,000 fans each night, became a scene of an attack.
As of now, three suspects, all in their teens, have been arrested in connection to the plotting of the attack. The authorities revealed these young men were linked to the Islamic State (ISIS), and planned to take the lives of as many attendees as possible.

Following the cancellations, Disney+ and Austria’s ORF 1 swooped in to give attendees some happiness after the events. On August 10th, the same night Swift was supposed to take the stage, her “Eras Tour” film lit up screens across Austria for free. The streaming platform offered a free 7-day trial for fans to stream the concert film from the comfort of their homes.
