Queen Camilla Parker sure has a creative son! Tom Parker Bowles, a food critic and writer, is the Queen Consort’s son from her first marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles. The now-queen married King Charles in 2005, after controversy due to their affair amid the monarch’s marriage to Princess Diana. With the late Princess passing in a car accident in 1997, Charles found a new wife Camilla Parker.
Fast-forward to 2012: Tom spilled the tea on his relationship with King Charles in an interview with The Telegraph. During the convo, he revealed he and his sister called him “Sir,” a nickname that has endured the test of time. However, he clarified that the moniker is not an obligation and that it comes from a childhood memory:
“When we were little, my mother would tell my sister and I that Sir was coming to visit, so the name stuck and to call him anything else would be very odd and unnatural.”
Tom and his sister, Laura Lopes, attended King Charles and Queen Camilla Parker’s wedding in Windsor. Among the attendees were, of course, Prince William and Prince Harry. Despite their mother becoming the Queen, the two siblings have not yet received royal titles, and will likely never get them due to King Charles’ idea to slim down the monarchy.
