BTS’ Suga has become a hot trending topic worldwide because of his DUI incident. The K-Netizens and the South Korean police showed their discontent towards the idol’s actions, and he might be facing legal consequences in the next few days to come.
On August 9, the Yongsan Police Station disclosed Suga’s blood alcohol level was 0.227% when he was operating an electric scooter. Although the idol confessed to the police he only had a glass of bear, he likely had more drinks.
The legal BAC limit is 0.03% and anyone who drives with a blood alcohol level 0.08% or higher could face a fine of 5 million won ($3,664 USD) to 10 million won ($7,329 USD) or a prison sentence of 1 to 5 years depending on their alcohol blood level.
The Yongsan Police Station has not yet decided whether to revoke Suga’s driver’s license. The BTS member would be unable to obtain a license for 1 year if it is revoked. It is expected new investigations from the Yongsan Police will continue and decide what’s going to happen with the idol.
