In the latest episode of ‘A Right Royal Podcast‘, HELLO!’s royal editor, Emily Nash, talked about one of King Charles III‘s unusual bedtime preferences, assuring that he is a traditional man with very particular tastes.
Nash expressed with surprise to her present companion a particularity of the king: “She did once reveal in an interview that he doesn’t like duvets!” and then added, “I mean, I’m assuming he’s a traditional sheets and blankets kind of guy. The royal family likes some traditions! He doesn’t like things that are very heated; he keeps his properties on the chilly side“.
It is possible that King Charles III prefers to use traditional sheets at bedtime because he is a fan of the cold, and this has been confirmed repeatedly, including Annabel in an interview for Robert Hardman’s book, who said that in the monarch’s relationship, “There’s a constant battle about it“.
“He will have opened [a window]. She will creep in behind and shut it. So there’s a lot of: ‘Oh, darling, you shut the window. ‘Yes, I have, because we’re all freezing.’ So a lot of banter goes on“, letting it be known that the king tolerates temperatures that others don’t; perhaps that’s why he prefers to sleep on thinner sheets.
