BLACKPINK is breaking the 7-year K-pop course! That’s because the group is celebrating their 8th anniversary today! Yes, you read that right, our fierce quartet turned 8 years old today, and we could not be happier. The four members themselves took to Weverse to celebrate, interacting with fans through live stream.
In the photos, we can see Rosé, Lisa, Jennie, and Jisoo posing with a yummy cake and a birthday candle. In addition, BLINKs (that’s the name BLACKPINK fans wear proudly) took to social media to honor the “As If It’s Your Last” hitmakers through a hashtag event, taking the Internet by storm.

This year, fans were in suspense due to BLACKPINK possibly not renewing their contracts as a group. In the end, all four members decided to stay with YG Entertainment as a quartet. However, they are pursuing their solo endeavors on different labels, marking a different step in their careers.
