Meghan Markle has an emotional reaction in recent interview with Prince Harry

Meghan Markle, with Prince Harry by her side, got emotional during a heartfelt interview on CBS Sunday Morning, which aired on August 4th (coinciding with her birthday). The duo discussed their new initiative, “The Parents Network,” aimed at supporting families whose children have been affected by online harm and the implications these problems have on mental health.

But the part that stole the show was Meghan Markle’s emotional gesture towards Prince Harry. During the interview, anchor Jane Pauley touched on Meghan’s previous revelations about her thoughts of taking her own life. “You had an experience that connects you to these families,” Pauley said. Then, Meghan Markle placed her hand on Prince Harry’s knee, signaling protection and support.

Initially, the interviewer said that Meghan was “uncomfortable” with the interview going in that route, given the personal nature of the question. However, the Duke of Sussex responded with grace, saying:

“I understand why you are though. I wasn’t expecting it, but I understand why you are. Because there is a through-line, I think. When you’ve been through any level of pain or trauma, I believe part of our healing journey — certainly part of mine — is being able to be really open about it.”

The segment also showcased Meghan and Harry meeting with families involved in “The Parents Network,” proving their commitment to mental health through their Archewell Foundation. With their “No Child Lost to Social Media” campaign, the couple is providing crucial support for parents going through the challenges of online exposure and its impact on children’s mental health.
