Despite being a bit unusual for a royal, Prince William and Kate Middleton made the peculiar choice to raise their children by their own in order to give them a normal childhood and share as much time with them as possible.
A source told the Daily Mail that by not having household staff, “The children help with laying the table, clearing their plates when they’ve finished eating and helping with tidying up” and added, “I think it would surprise people to see how ordinary things are at home“.
Even after Kate Middleton was diagnosed with cancer, the family dynamics have been maintained, as according to the source, “In a bid to keep things functioning as smoothly as possible she has been keen for everything to carry on as normal for the children. The children are still expected to do their chores and to muck in at home“.
Unlike the Princess of Wales, who only asks her sister or her parents for help with the intention of keeping her home a ‘safe haven’ for the princes, Diana and Charles III requested four cooks, a butler, five managers, and four assistants who could support them during the upbringing of Prince William and Prince Harry.
