GOT7‘s Jinyoung is usually praised for being one of the most complete idols in the Kpop scene, he can sing, dance, write songs and even act. However, the idol’s success almost didn’t happen after he revealed he wanted to quit being an idol.
Since GOT7 left JYP Entertainment, Jinyoung wanted to focus in his acting career, starring K-dramas such as, “The Devil Judge,” “Yumi’s Cells,” and Neflix’s film, “Yaksha: Ruthless Operations.” Ultimately, the idol opened his heart to GQ Australia to talk about his journey as an idol.
The idol confessed he had a major personal view internally, he was quiet and stern despite GOT7’s reputation of being talkative and chaotic. He even confessed that some members of the boy band were “uncomfortable” around him.
Taylor Glasby, a journalist who spent a week with GOT7 while they prepared for their iconic 2022 comeback wanted to share his insights. The reporter explained that the idol wanted to quit his career because he didn’t feel comfortable.
“Jinyoung was unhappy, he estimates, 60-70% of the time. It even caused him to consider leaving the entertainment industry. Still, he chose to stay. He wanted to leave the industry but stayed knowing how much people believed in him — his fans, family, his members. People liked him, but, he laughs, people like him much more now.”
