Adele faces backlash from K-Netizens over controversial flag imagery at concert

Undoubtedly, Adele has been one of the most beloved artists worldwide. However, she completely outraged the K-Netizens at a recent concert based purely on political reasons. The controversy has just increased as the time passes by.

Adele holds solo concerts in Munich, Germany. The series of concerts expected to garner a total of 800,000 people over 10 performances. The beautiful and heartfelt show was interrupted by the outrage of the South Korean fans.

Adele performed “Rumour Has It” with a giant LED screen on stage displaying the Rising Sun Flag. The K-Netizens immediately expressed their shock even more due to its usage in Germany, as the Rising Sun imagery is considered akin to the swastika symbol as taboo. On top of that, the imagery symbolizes imperialism and war crimes.

Thousands of new forums online are in outrage, expressing they should be boycotting Adele’s upcoming shows if she doesn’t cease to display the Rising Sun Flag. On the other hand, some fans believe she didn’t do it for the purpose of damaging anyone.
