Royal biographer Rob Jobson claimed that in 2011, Prince William was reportedly ‘furious’ at Donald Trump over his Kate Middleton ‘nude sunbathing’ comments inappropriate and disrespectful that he had made on social media.
In the new report, Jobson said, “William was reportedly furious when Donald Trump tweeted, ‘Kate Middleton is great—but she shouldn’t be sunbathing in the nude—only herself to blame. Who wouldn’t take Kate’s picture and make lots of money if she does the nude sunbathing thing? Come on Kate!’“.
Donald Trump wrote that message after it was made public that a paparazzi violated the privacy of the princess to take pictures of her sunbathing topless from the balcony of her castle, which ended in a lawsuit of 100,000 dollars to Closer magazine for damages because, according to Jobson, “The entire affair had left the duchess feeling ‘violated’“.
There is no doubt that the comments by the former president of the United States were quite abusive; however, they did not have any legal repercussions for him, but it has created a significant rift in the relationship between the U.S businessman and the future monarch of the United Kingdom.
