About 8 years ago the BLACKPINK girls captivated the K-Pop scene with their debut bops “Whistle” and “Boombayah.” Fast forward to now, they’ve racked up billions of streams on Spotify and built a loyal following of BLINKs—that’s the name of their loyal fans. Now, the music platform is all about celebrating BLACKPINK’s milestones with a special surprise!

Here’s the scoop: some users in Indonesia, South Korea, the Philippines, the U.S., Thailand, Brazil, Australia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Spain, Poland, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, India, and Turkey will be given digital social cards based on their BLACKPINK streaming habits.

Jungjoo Park, Head of Music Korea, Spotify, said that their #8YearswithBLACKPINK campaign proves their commitment to supporting South Korean artists around the globe. And let’s just say that for BLACKPINK that is no problem! The group has made moves beyond South Korea, having millions of listeners in the U.S., Indonesia, Mexico, the Philippines, and Brazil on Spotify.

So now, you know it: celebrate #8YearswithBLACKPINK from August 1 through August 8 with a playlist that will honor BLACKPINK’s eras daily.
