The unfortunate news keeps coming for Prince William and Prince Harry, who were recently informed of the death of a relative who played a significant role in the British monarchy, and now everyone is grieving their loss.
After marrying Lady Jane Fellowes, Princess Diana‘s sister, in 1978, Lord Robert Fellowes became William and Harry’s uncle. Sadly, he passed away on July 29th, 2024, at the age of 82, due to “undisclosed causes“, as reported by The Times.
Lord Robert Fellowes had a good relationship with the sons of King Charles III, and according to Tina Brown, royal biographer, they spent a lot of time together as a family; “he became a steady presence in the boys’ lives, hosting them on country weekends in Norfolk with their cousins“.
Diana’s brother-in-law also worked as Queen Elizabeth II‘s private secretary and even once spoke about how close they were and revealed, “Robert is the only one of my private secretaries I have held in my arms“. There is no doubt that he had a very important role in the monarchy; he also enjoyed the affection of many.
