Britney Spears will have a movie about herself! The princess of pop secured the rights to her biopic with Universal Pictures, which will base her story on her bombshell memoir, “The Woman in Me,” in a jaw-dropping deal. The studio beat out fierce competition from other industry heavyweights like Sony, Warner Brothers, Fox, Disney, and Netflix, securing the Britney Spears’ story.
The director’s chair will be occupied by none other than Jon M. Chu, who’s also known for directing Ariana Grande‘s movie “Wicked,” scheduled to release in November. He will be joined by Oscar-winning producer Marc Platt. The deal also includes access to Britney Spears’ extensive music catalog, which will surely be a key point in the film.
Excited to share with my fans that I've been working on a secret project with #MarcPlatt. He’s always made my favorite movies … stay tuned 🌹🎥
